MUSIC VIDEO
As the city sleeps, empty seats in an NFL stadium, the rockers emerge with a guitar standing on the fifty-yard line in solidarity as they sing to a world in hope of brighter days. Speaking to the heart of what the world is feeling at the moment.
We are together, alone.
As many people are uniting to stay home to help fight the Coronavirus pandemic, there’s a natural longing for togetherness. To sit among a cheering crowd as the team scores a touchdown or feel the rumble of an electric applause at a live concert.
The Western Sons capture the human spirit in their stripped performance of “Sleeping Alone.” A song that resonates clearly and deeply to what many are going through. That it’s ok to be alone for a bigger purpose, LOVE. Something we are willing to sacrifice for the ones we care about.
Sometimes music has its own timeline, and the universe speaks to when time. Just as the song and video was set to be released, The Western Sons experienced the Nashville “One, Two punch” firsthand. Garrett the bass player lost his home when the March tornado ripped through Nashville. Then the band was forced to cancel all shows as the Coronavirus landed in the US.
Originally written as a romantic pop/rock track, Nashville’s emerging rock band summoned inspiration to create a version of the song that was meant to be. Unaware of future events, they just went with their gut feelings. The result is spot on.
As football stadiums and cities across the country have begun to turn on lights as a symbol of hope and unity, the song and video lives for this moment. Performing “Sleeping Alone” in an empty Tennessee Titans stadium was meant for something larger than anyone could have foreseen.
The band is currently self-isolating and collaborating remotely. Taking Instagram to share some of their FaceTime jams together and to keep in touch with fans.

She left me broken like the colosseum
Then you picked me up, dust me off
If I was you I’d run
Girl I can’t take it you’re pulling me in now
No I can’t take it I’m barely getting sleep now
When you love somebody
But you can’t show
You can take your time now baby
I’m fine with sleeping alone
Ohhh
Until you come around until you’re calling my name
Ohhh
Until you come around until you feel the same
Ohhh
I’m a fool in your paradise
I can’t come up for air
Inhale, exhale
The heat of this moment is high, prepare
Girl I can’t take it you’re pulling me in now
No I can’t take it I’m barely getting sleep now
When you love somebody
But you can’t show
You can take your time now baby
I’m fine with sleeping alone
Ohhh
Until you come around until you’re calling my name
Ohhh
Until you come around until you feel the same
Ohhh
When you love somebody
But you can’t show
You can take your time now baby
I’m fine with sleeping alone
Ohhh
Until you come around until you’re calling my name
Ohhh
Until you come around until you feel the same
Ohhh
