The Western Sons echo the heartbeat of a new generation of rock music. The Nashville based luxurious rockers are emerging as one of the most exciting bands to hit the music scene in years.
The bands unmistakable genre-bending sound, style, and songwriting occupy a very unique space in music. Ushering in a sound that lives perfectly among pop while blending rock inspired rhythms with an electric energy that echo’s what has made rock timeless throughout decades.
Weaving anthemic, hook-filled melodies with a diverse combination of pop and interlocking rock beats; mixed with striking rock guitar riffs; the trio is leading the charge of a new genre defining time in music.
The threesome, Tyler Cohenour (lead vocals, guitar), Devyn Campbell (lead guitar, vocals) and Garrett Carr (bass, vocals); playing by their own rules and defying industry standards; have quickly built a reputation for demanding crowds in a moments notice with last minute pop up shows announced via social media. The bands non-stop energetic performances have fans lining up to get a glimpse of Americas new rock band The Western Sons.
Leaving behind the comfort of what could be solid careers for most, Tyler and Garrett who first met while attending college in Florida, packed up and moved to Nashville to seek a creative sanctuary. They discovered a music community that would soon become the birthplace of the rocker trio. The pair met Devyn while in Nashville and after hearing him play, knew he was a perfect fit for the band.
A home studio in east Nashville became the launchpad for this new ensemble. While making music with no boundaries combined with writing songs that reflect life experiences; the band discovered the foundation that would lead them to a new beginning collectively for their music.
The Western Sons new single “Sleeping Alone” is a first taste of what to expect as the band sets its sights on the top 40. Tyler leads with a stunning melody rich performance on the romantic loaded single. The singer’s tenor vocal speaks with an honest and emotional delivery through every lyric, riff and melody as the track evokes the pure power of the band. The song marks the first single from a highly anticipated forthcoming project to be released in 2020.

Sleeping Alone (Stripped)
The Western Sons capture the human spirit in their stripped performance of “Sleeping Alone.” A song that resonates clearly and deeply to what many are going through. That it’s ok to be alone for a bigger purpose, LOVE. Something we are willing to sacrifice for the ones we care about.
Sometimes music has its own timeline, and the universe speaks to when time. Just as the song and video was set to be released, The Western Sons experienced the Nashville “One, Two punch” firsthand. Garrett the bass player lost his home when the March tornado ripped through Nashville. Then the band was forced to cancel all shows as the Coronavirus landed in the US.
Originally written as a romantic pop/rock track, Nashville’s emerging rock band summoned inspiration to create a version of the song that was meant to be. Unaware of future events, they just went with their gut feelings. The result is spot on.
